Term Description
Availability (A) One of the three OEE components. Measures the proportion of planned production time during which a machine is actually running.
Cause and remedy The system's explanation of why an event occurred and how it can be corrected. This may be shown in AI-generated help popups or instruction views (if available).
KPI (Key Performance Indicator) A measurable value that represents how effectively a machine or process is performing. Common KPIs include OEE, Performance (P), Availability (A), and Quality (Q).
NOK (Not OK) parts Defective or rejected parts in production. Shown in scrap views and used in quality calculations.
OE Overall equipment effectiveness. In some contexts, OE is used interchangeably with OEE.
OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) A composite metric measuring overall manufacturing productivity. Calculated from Performance x Availability x Quality.
OK parts Units produced that meet quality standards. Used in quality calculations (OK / (OK + NOK)).
Pareto principle (80/20 rule) Used in Pareto charts to highlight the top contributors (often the "top 80%") to downtime, warnings, errors, or scrap.
PPM (Parts per minute) A measure of production speed.
Performance (P) An OEE component measuring how fast the machine runs compared to its ideal speed.
Quality (Q) An OEE component representing the ratio of good parts (OK) to total produced parts (OK + NOK).
SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) Formal process documentation defining how to perform specific tasks or handle certain faults. SOPs may be linked from instructions (if available).
Widget A reusable UI element on a dashboard (for example KPI Cards, a Pareto chart, or a machine status timeline). Each widget provides a specific visualization or interaction type.
