Analyze a Message¶
Purpose¶
Analyze a specific error, warning, or scrap-related message to understand how often it occurs, how long it lasts, and what to do next.
Steps¶
- Open a widget that lists or visualizes messages (for example a Pareto chart, timeline chart, history list, or live alerts).
- Select the message entry you want to investigate.
- Choose Analyze message.
- Review:
- occurrences (timestamps)
- durations and statistics (min/max/average)
- "time until next appearance" intervals (if available)
- If available, choose Get help to view guidance based on linked instructions.

What users see¶
- An action selection view (analyze / get help / ignore) depending on permissions.
- A detailed analysis view with history and statistics.
Best practices¶
- Capture the message index/text, machine name, and a timestamp before escalating.
- Use analysis results to distinguish rare incidents from recurring patterns.
Troubleshooting¶
- The analyze action is missing -> Missing permission or unsupported message type -> Ask an admin to review your role -> Escalate with message text/index and a screenshot (if allowed)
- Data looks incomplete -> Time range too narrow or filters locked -> Expand time range and verify machine selection -> Escalate with the filters you used
